Uplands
College Partcipates in Paintball Tournament
For
the first time ever Uplands College
participated in a paintball tournament
(31 Aug - 2 Sep 2007). We travelled
down to Durban and spent one night in
San Lameer for some training on the
golf course and the beach. On the Sunday
we took part in the “Mighty Paintball
Tournament”. We were matched against
some of the finest teams the country
has to offer, including the notorious
“Xplicit” and “Reservoir
Dogs”.
Although
we didn’t manage to capture the
flag before any of the other teams,
we did leave our mark (literally) in
paintball circles, as we managed to
obtain 17 points and three bonus points.
This
tournament was hopefully just the first
of many. It was a great learning curve
for all of us, as we had never played
“Airball” before (in the
Lowveld we just do Bush Games…).
They will definitely see us back next
year.
We
would like to thank Mr and Mrs Lovett
from Pegasus Engineering for their donation
of gear to our team. We hope to keep
their name high in tournaments to come.
