Chess Club
The Chess Club started off with mainly junior, novice pupils attending the Monday sessions. It was not long before many became avid “warriors” of the game, challenging anyone and anything that crossed their path!

Matthew Mansfield is our current Champ, with the other members battling their way up the chess ladder in order to take him out! His current status is fairly stable but a hard battle is underway for that challenge. We hope to gain another expert, to balance the scales of total injustice. Itu Lebea is coming up close on his heels.

Kurt Spence entered the Top 20 Mpumalanga Competition, and achieved 14th place for U16 players – Well done to Kurt!

The girls that we currently have in the team are huge battle contenders, and take on the guys with the determination and gusto normally reserved for First Team Rugby players. As with any Great Battle, attack is the best means of defense, and with chess, this method cannot be underestimated! We look forward to the challenges and trials that await us in 2009.
