Olympiad Results 2008

Accounting Olympiad
During an extremely busy Second Term some brave Accounting pupils spent their time writing an Accounting Olympiad. It turned out to be a very successful event since we managed to obtain the first three places in Mpumalanga.

Amy Comley achieved First place, Alex Matthews Second and Jo-Ann Stratford Third.

Thanks to these girls who have kept the school’s name high.

English Olympiad
The English Olympiad has become one of our annual academic highlights as more and more students enter and produce ever-improving results. The theme was law and any student who has watched legal dramas or read a John Grisham novel would have had insight into this theme. This year we entered a record 30 Grade 10, 11 and 12 students and our results were the best they have ever been. The students achieved 17 Merit and eight Bronze certificates, and Silver certificates were awarded to Tammy Harrison, Shanine Viljoen and Leigh Williamson.

We have yet to earn a Gold, but as we familiarise ourselves with the expectations and material, it is not far out of our reach.
