Congratulations
to The Uplands College Class of
2009!
The
Matric Class of 2009 have done us
extremely proud! All 75 candidates
passed, 72 with University Exemption
and three with Diploma Access. Amazing
results were produced by Ewald Nel,
Amy Vieler and Andrea Wilson. Not
only did they each obtain 7 A's,
they also managed to obtain two
subjects each in the 90s. A further
six candidates passed “With
Distinction”:
Two
candidates, Ewald Nel and Stefanie
Van Velden, achieved results in
the top 1% for Afrikaans nationally,
while Fiona Lourens was in the top
1% of the national English results. |

Overall
the results are a distinct improvement
compared to last year. The University
Exemption rate is up from 89%
to 96% (16% above the IEB rate).
Furthermore, the 75 candidates
managed to obtain 80 distinctions
between them. This is an average
number of distinctions per candidate
of 1.1 compared to last year’s
0.9.
