College
Magazine
The
Uplander, the
College’s magazine, is issued annually
on the last day of the fourth term. Each
pupil receives a copy free of charge.
This full-colour publication showcases
the many and varied activities which take
place in the school year. The Uplander
Committee makes a concerted effort to
include every one of the College pupils
in its visual representation of life at
school.
This
in-house production is created on campus,
with only the printing done by an outside
company. Pupils on The Uplander
Committee assist in taking formal and
informal photos, Photoshop™ collages
and borders, create advertisements, do
artistic lay-outs, type and proofread
copy. Pupils who work on the magazine
are equipped with real, marketable skills.

College
Newspaper
The
Up Close & Personal is a
journalistic collaboration portraying
the best of College life. It is written
by the pupils, for the pupils, with limited
teacher supervision.
While
the newsaper includes articles on the
numerous College activities, there is
always a lighter side to Up Close
& Personal, found in the form
of interviews and quizzes. |

The
Amicae
This publication is another
“first” in Uplands’
proud history - a combined Uplands College
and Prep newsletter. The Amicae
was first published in June 2004 in response
to requests for information from many
of our past pupils.
The Amicae is sent to a very
important group of people: our alumni
and friends, including as many past parents
as we have addresses for, in recognition
of the wonderful support that we have
received in the past, continue to receive
in the present and anticipate receiving
in the future. All our past and current
parents and pupils, from both Uplands
Prep and College receive The Amicae
newsletter. It is an important tool in
communicating the various activities,
sports, awards and developments that have
taken place on campus. |
