1st XV Rugby Tour
2008
The 1st rugby XV toured the thriving metropolis of Kokstad this holiday to participate in their annual Festival. We played the main game of Thursday the 20th of March against George Campbell Technical High School from Durban. George Campbell is a school of almost 1000 boys and has 8 open sides. They play against the top schools in KZN including Westville, Glenwood, DHS etc.
Uplands expected a tough and physical encounter and that was exaclty what they experienced. The Uplands boys played with a lot of determination. Unforced errors at critical stages were their downfall and they lost by 12-27. In the same vain, they played more creative rugby and two scintillating tries were scored by Thabo Khoza and Keith Trytsman. Uplands played against Thomas More College in Durban on Saturday the 22nd March and won convincinly 26-3. Keith Trytsman scored 3 tries in the match and kicked three converstions. Jason Wright score the fourth try.
